Young Musician Concerto Competition

The Competition is open to talented young pianists and string, woodwind, and brass players who are either resident in, or studying in, the UK or in one of the twin towns of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.

Following the preliminary rounds, eight finalists are selected to perform in the Competition Final. This exciting event is open to the public, offering an opportunity to hear some of the country's most promising young musicians.

The Windsor & Maidenhead Symphony Orchestra's annual Young Musician Concerto Competition showcases outstanding pianists and string, woodwind, and brass players. Finalists compete before an audience and expert adjudicators, with the winner receiving £1,000, a trophy, and the opportunity to perform with the Orchestra the following season.

Berlioz's Requiem (Grande Messe des Morts)

4 December 2027

The Windsor & Maidenhead Symphony Chorus will be joining with the Royal Free Singers, the Slough Philharmonic Society, Parenthesis Choir, Maidenhead Choral Society, and the Windsor & Maidenhead Symphony Orchestra to perform Berlioz's epic Requiem (Grande Messe des Morts) at Guildford Cathedral, a gigantic Choral Work involving massed Orchestra, four antiphonal off-stage brass ensembles, and over 300 Singers.
