Our season has a powerful start with three great German masterpieces. The rising emotional intensity of Wagner’s Prelude is contrasted with Hindemith’s uncharacteristically light-hearted set of orchestral variations on themes of Weber. We are thrilled to be joined for the second half of the concert by world-renowned pianist Ian Brown in one of the best loved concertos in the repertoire.
